We will be doing things slightly differently on Sundays.

The Sundays of Lent are days of celebration, and I think at this moment we need to pause and celebrate the fact that we have made it through five days of lent.

Was it easy for you?  Did you struggle with some areas?

Remember that this Lenten discipline is for our benefit, not for GOD’s.  He loves us, no matter what we do, and nothing we do could make Him love us more, or less.  It is our way of bringing ourselves closer to him, not a magic spell to make us holier, or more acceptable.

"Does the LORD delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the voice of the LORD ?  To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams. (1 Samuel 15:22)

A heart that desires to follow God is better than a body that tries to deny itself.  Remember that it doesn’t make GOD happy when we deny ourselves, but it does please him when we use our self-denial to seek him.

So take a deep breathe today, and commit to focusing on GOD this week.  He loves you, and knows your weaknesses and frailties.
