Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good, to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and to show true humility toward all men. (Titus 3:1-2)
I think meekness gets a bad rap. We talk about meekness as if it means weakness. But here we see it explained properly: Being obedient to authority, and peaceful and humble.
Note that all these are decisions, not something that just happens. We have to choose to submit, and we have to choose to be meek. Because that means placing our trust in someone elses strength.
